When we have prayed about the same matter for a long time and yet see nothing changed, we come to think about what use there is in praying any more. Even a heart that was earnest at first grows weary while waiting, and we may call on God with our lips while in our hearts we have already given up. To us who are like this, Jesus tells the story of a widow. The Lord leads us to see that the reason we must not abandon prayer while waiting lies in whom we pray to.
