Through this word, I would like to think about just a few things. The Lord said, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God” (Luke 16:15). The Lord, while speaking the word about the wise steward, said, “‘No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon’” (Luke 16:13). When the Pharisees heard this parable sermon of Jesus Christ, they were furious inside. So they, of their own accord, slandered and derided Jesus. Then Jesus told the Pharisees that what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
