After Jesus breathed His last, Joseph of Arimathea went to Pilate and asked for the Lord’s body. In the place where people had united in their intent to kill Jesus, this man had not joined in that decision. Now he did the work of taking down the Lord’s body, wrapping it in linen, and laying it to rest in a new tomb. The women who had followed after also looked at the tomb and where the Lord’s body was laid. Even in the place where visible glory had vanished, the heart that loved the Lord was leading to actual service.
