When people hear that a great event is about to come, they tend to stop the work they are doing and look only to the future. Then, when nothing happens right away, they forget even their initial tension. But the purpose for which the Lord spoke about the end does not lie in making us waver between two extremes. The Lord, while making known the things that will come to pass, taught us how we are to spend the time given to us today. If the world becomes like this, what must we do? For the saints, the time of waiting for the end is time in which we can preach the gospel of salvation.
