While Jesus was telling the disciples to pray, a multitude appeared. Since Luke records, “While He was still speaking, behold, a multitude; and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them” (Luke 22:47), it was not only strangers who approached the disciples. A man who had heard the word together with them and lived together with them had now become the one leading the multitude that came to seize the Lord. This record shows that a history of staying at the Lord’s side and a heart that believes in the Lord do not automatically become the same.
