Speaking a familiar name about Jesus and believing in Him are not the same. For one can exalt Him as One who gave good teachings, yet not accept Him as the Lord who remits sins and gives life. In the text, Jesus asked again about the title of the Christ that people knew. “He said to them, ‘How can they say that the Christ is the Son of David?’” (Luke 20:41). To the people who, while speaking of the Son of David with their mouths, did not sufficiently consider who the Christ is, the Lord spoke so that they would think more deeply according to the Scriptures.
