When Jesus was preaching the gospel to the people in the temple, the leaders came near. It was a place where the same word was heard, but rather than the teaching of salvation, they first questioned where the authority to teach had come from. We, too, must examine what we are hearing when we come before the word. For a heart that wants to learn the way to be saved from sin and a heart that wants to keep only the way it has itself approved go on to entirely different paths even with the same Bible opened before them.
